This policy is written to be clear and operational. It should be reviewed by qualified counsel before being treated as a final legal policy for production launch.
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Pauze Display collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal information when people use our website, advertiser workspace, venue owner workspace, campaign tools, screen inventory tools, payment flows, and related support channels.
Pauze connects advertisers who want to book digital screens with venue owners who list venues and screens. Because our product touches account setup, campaign activity, venue inventory, payments, and support, we only collect information that helps us run those workflows safely and clearly.
2. Information we collect
Account information: name, email address, password, role, organisation name, display currency, address, city, post code, country, phone number, and whether Terms & Conditions were accepted.
Advertiser information: campaign names, campaign objectives, dates, selected screens, uploaded creative files, campaign status, checkout status, transaction records, receipts, and support requests.
Venue owner information: venue names, venue types, venue locations, screen names, screen locations, screen format, price per day, estimated weekly impressions, bookings, earnings summaries, and operational notes needed to manage inventory.
Payment information: payment reference, transaction status, provider response, checkout amount, campaign days, selected screen line items, receipts, and billing metadata. Card details are handled by the payment provider and are not stored by Pauze.
Device and usage information: browser type, device type, pages visited, session state, error logs, timestamps, approximate technical location derived from network data, and interactions needed to secure and improve the service.
Local storage and preferences: theme choice, session token, global search state, and other small product preferences used to keep the workspace usable between visits.
3. How we collect information
We collect information directly from you when you create an account, sign in, create campaigns, upload creative, add venues, add screens, search inventory, start checkout, contact support, or otherwise use the product.
We collect some information automatically from your browser or device, such as basic technical logs, session state, and product usage signals.
We may receive payment confirmation or transaction metadata from payment processors, and we may receive operational data from venue owners or advertisers when they manage inventory and campaigns.
4. How we use information
To create and manage accounts, authenticate users, keep sessions active, and route users to the correct advertiser or venue owner workspace.
To let advertisers create campaigns, select screens, upload creative, save drafts, pay for campaigns, view transaction history, and download receipts.
To let venue owners create venues, add screens, set daily screen pricing, review bookings, and track earnings or settlement information.
To calculate campaign pricing from selected screens, inclusive campaign days, and screen price per day.
To provide customer support, troubleshoot errors, improve performance, protect against misuse, prevent fraud, and maintain the reliability of the platform.
To send service messages about account activity, campaign state, booking status, payment status, product updates, security notices, or support conversations.
5. Legal bases for processing
We process information to perform our contract with users, such as providing account access, campaign tools, screen listings, booking workflows, payment flows, and receipts.
We process information where we have a legitimate interest in operating, securing, improving, and measuring the product, as long as those interests do not override user privacy rights.
We process some information because it is necessary for legal, tax, accounting, regulatory, dispute-resolution, or fraud-prevention obligations.
Where consent is required, such as for optional marketing communications or certain cookies, users can withdraw consent using the controls we provide or by contacting us.
6. How we share information
Advertisers and venue owners: information may be shown between parties only where needed to operate bookings, screen selection, campaign delivery, receipts, reporting, or dispute resolution.
Payment providers: transaction and checkout metadata may be shared with payment processors to complete, verify, refund, or reconcile payments.
Service providers: we may use hosting, analytics, logging, storage, email, customer support, and security vendors that process information for us under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.
Legal and safety reasons: we may disclose information if required by law, court order, regulator request, fraud investigation, security incident response, or to protect rights, property, users, or the public.
Business changes: if Pauze is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to continued protection.
7. Payments and transaction records
Pauze may show transaction amounts, campaign days, selected screens, price per day, line amounts, payment status, checkout reference, and receipt details inside the workspace.
Payment card or bank details are handled by the payment provider. Pauze does not intentionally store complete card numbers, CVV codes, or banking authentication details.
We retain transaction and receipt records where needed for accounting, reconciliation, dispute handling, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and user account history.
8. Creative files and screen content
Advertisers may upload images, videos, or other approved campaign creative. We use these files to create, review, update, preview, and deliver campaign content.
Uploaded files may include metadata such as file name, type, size, creative format, upload progress, preview URL, and related campaign identifiers.
Advertisers are responsible for ensuring they have the rights and permissions needed to upload and use their creative material in campaigns.
9. Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies
We use local storage and similar browser technologies to keep users signed in, remember theme preference, store workspace search state, and improve the app experience.
We may use cookies or analytics technologies to understand website performance, product usage, security events, and errors. Where required, we will provide consent controls.
Users can adjust browser settings to block or delete cookies and local storage. Some product features may not work correctly if these technologies are disabled.
10. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain account records, support campaigns and bookings, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the platform.
Account data is generally retained while an account is active. Transaction records, receipts, tax records, and audit logs may be retained longer where required for legal, accounting, or security reasons.
When information is no longer needed, we delete, anonymise, aggregate, or securely archive it according to operational and legal requirements.
11. Security
We use technical, organisational, and administrative measures designed to protect personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or misuse.
These measures may include access controls, authentication, encrypted connections, monitoring, limited staff access, vendor controls, secure hosting, and incident response processes.
No online service can guarantee perfect security. Users should use strong passwords, keep login details private, and contact us quickly if they suspect unauthorised access.
12. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, update, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of certain personal information.
You may also have the right to withdraw consent, object to certain marketing, or request that we explain how we process your information.
To make a privacy request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before completing the request, and some information may be retained where required by law or legitimate business needs.
13. International transfers
Pauze may use service providers, hosting infrastructure, or support tools located outside your country. This means information may be transferred to, stored in, or accessed from other jurisdictions.
Where international transfers occur, we take steps designed to protect information through appropriate contractual, technical, and organisational safeguards.
14. Children
Pauze is intended for business users and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to Pauze, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to review and delete the information where required.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product, laws, vendors, or business operations change. When we make meaningful changes, we will update the effective date and may provide additional notice in the product or by email.
Continued use of Pauze after a policy update means the updated policy applies to future use of the service.
